Treatment Modalities
Along with chiropractic manipulative therapy, massage therapy and acupuncture, we offer a number of different therapies and modalities to help aid in our treatment. Such modalities include but are not limited to:
Class IV Laser Therapy: K-Laser
Laser Therapy, or "photobiomodulation", is the use of specific wavelengths of light (red and near-infrared) to create therapeutic effects. These effects include improved healing time, pain reduction, increased circulation and decreased swelling. Laser therapy has been widely utilized in Europe by physical therapists, nurses, and doctors as far back as the 1970's. Now, after FDA clearance in 2002, Laser therapy is being used extensively in the United States. The Oregon Wellness Center is one of only a few clinics in Oregon currently utilizing this technology. Mechanical Traction
Mechanical Traction is a form of decompression or axial traction. It is used to help take pressure off of the spinal joints, spinal discs and decompress the spine. This helps to straightned the spine, alleviate pain and improve the body's abilty to heal. Mechanical traction is used to treat herniated discs, sciatic pain, pinced nerves, degenerative discs, joint irritation, as well as many other spinal conditions. This type of therapy or modalilty can be used for both the neck (cervical spine) and the low back (lumbar spine). It is very gentle, safe, and most patients only feel a mild stretch during each session. In fact, some patients will admit to falling asleep.

Class III Cold Laser Therapy
Class III Low Level Laser Therapy (LLLT) works at the cellular level. Human cells produce a chimical known as adenosine tri-phosphate (ATP) to run the body and heal tissue. All of our body's activities result from the use of ATP. It is like gasoline to our car. LLLT stimulates a micro-structure within the cells called motochondria (nicknamed the 'Powerhouse' because it produces ATP) to produce slighlty higher amounts of ATP. Thus with more ATP at the cellular level, tissues heal faster, and therefore relief comes quicker.
